THE DYNAMICS OF THE UNDERNOURISHED POPULATION IN NIGERIA COMPARED TO AFRICA
Abstract
The research investigates the dynamics of undernourishment population in Nigeria compared to the African continent between 2001 and 2021. It explores trends, causes, and challenges in reducing food insecurity, highlighting government policies, international interventions, demographic pressures, and the effects of conflicts and climate change. The study utilizes data from Our World in Data and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), offering an in-depth look at the role of agricultural resources, infrastructural challenges, and policy interventions. The findings underscore the need for integrated, long-term strategies that address systemic vulnerabilities and enhance resilience across Nigeria and Africa, aiming for sustainable solutions to food insecurity.
