POSSIBILITIES TO IMPROVE THE MANAGEMENT OF THE EXPLOITATION OF BOVINE FOR MEAT IN EXTENSIVE SYSTEM

Abstract

Bovine for meat exploited extensively, in medium and large farms, capitalize efficiently the slope land and where rainfall is rarer, if these areas have water supply systems for consume and irrigation. Because these land areas are not suitable for crop production and the feed production capacity is limited both quantitatively and qualitatively, must be implemented risk management strategies, in designing successful management systems to be used in extensive production of bovine meat. In addition to the exploitation of heterosis and other differences between bovine breeds through crossbreeding, it is possible to achieve an optimum level of production if best management is applied in the provision of fodder resources, in choosing the best exploitation system, it is improved the management of the marketing by avoiding risks regarding the profitability variability due to the non-insurance of quality feed fodder, the non-adaptability of meat hybrids obtained through crossbreeding  to the conditions and the exploitation system, climate.
