MULTICRITERIAL APPROACH TO REGIONAL COMPETITIVENESS. CASE STUDY: REGION SOUTH-MUNTENIA
Abstract
Measuring the competitiveness level in the rural area has acquired increased importance in recent years, generated both by the rural area size and the available socio-economic resources, as well as by the need to identify certain local development poles, generating added value. Starting from these considerations, the present approach intends to address rural competitiveness through a multicriterial approach, on the basis of relatively limited public statistical data, as support in building up a system of indicators that reveal competitivenss structure, dynamics and behaviour, both in quantitative and qualitative terms. In this respect, the design of this system of indicators reflects the specificity of economic processes, the evolution trends, the factors with positive and negative impact, as support in the knowledge of the economic potential and competitiveness level.
