Abstract

The amount of secretions decreases rapidly during the first week after farrowing. At the beginning, their colour is reddish and their consistency bigger, until they become colourless and mainly mucilaginous seven days post partum. In the vagina secretions there is mucus and several types of cells (neutrophil leukocytes, cocobacillar and polymorphic flora, desquamated epithelia, etc.) whose share varies slightly, most of them being present at aii stages of investigation, a phenomenon attesting a normal evolution of the re-generating processes at the level of the genital tract
