THE ROLE OF COMMUNICATION IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES

Abstract


Effective communication is a cornerstone for fostering sustainable rural development, as it enhances the flow of information, encourages active community participation, and mobilizes essential resources. This research investigates the multifaceted relationship between communication strategies and rural development, focusing on how various communication tools—spanning from traditional methods such as face-to-face meetings and community radio to modern digital platforms like social media and mobile technologies—can empower rural communities.  Ultimately, this research underscores the pivotal role of communication in bridging gaps between rural populations and broader development objectives, emphasizing the need for adaptive and context-sensitive communication strategies that can accelerate sustainable development in rural settings.
