THE ROLE OF THE WORLD BANK IN THE ROMANIAN AGRICULTURAL RESTRUCTURING AND FINANCING

Abstract


In order to facilitate the facilitate market-based farm restructuring through enhancing the ability of farmers, farm family members, and farm workers to manage their assets and income the Romanian Government with the support of the World Bank implemented a project named „Complementing EU Support for Agricultural Restructuring Projectâ€. The paper aims to present this project, its advantages and disadvantages, its stage of implementation, ant its results. Another aim of the paper is to present the role and the importance of World Bank in financing agriculture in Romania and in other developing countries.
