THE EVOLUTION OF AGRICULTURE IN ROMANIA AFTER ACCESSION TO THE EUROPEAN UNION
Abstract
This report evaluates the evolution of agriculture in Romania after the accession to the European Union. The accession to the European Union represented for Romania an important moment of the post-communist period, being valued at that moment as a guarantee of the country's enrollment on a trajectory and of development and democracy.
The year 2007 opened for Romania a new era in the agricultural and rural development economy. Our country had to adapt quickly to its economy soon and immediately afterwards, in order to be able to integrate into the internal market of the European Union and to fully adopt the European acquis corresponding to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). In this context, the authors of the paper present main trends of agriculture in Romania after 2007.Keywords
