THE CITY OF IZMIR AND SOME TYPES OF TOURISM PRACTICED IN THIS AREA

Abstract


Izmir is the third largest city in Turkey. It is located in the west part of Turkey, on the Aegean shores. The purpose of the paper is to make a brief presentation of the town, starting with a historical presentation, and to show the main forms of tourism that can be practiced in the area. In this regard, we notice the medical tourism, which is well represented in Izmir, and the various forms of ecotourism.
