EVOLUTION OF FRUIT PRODUCTION WORLDWIDE

Abstract


Research aimed at presenting the evolution of fruit production worldwide during 1980-2014. The research methodology consisted in the analysis and processing of literature data. Fruit production ranks among first in both Romanian and world agriculture. During the decades, world area cultivated with fruit tree species increased very much: in 2014, there were over 75 million ha, i.e. 45% more than in 1980.
