THE IMPORTANCE OF COOPERATION BETWEEN YOUNG AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS (DESCRIPTION OF PARTIAL RESULTS OF A PRIMARY RESEARCH)

Abstract

In my research I examined knowledge about machine sharing rings and willingness to cooperate among young farmers in the Homokhátság. Machinery sharing rings are tools of peasant solidarity and mutual assistance designed to provide farming and machine assistance. Machine assistance fills the missing capacities while farming assistance helps the families in need in the event of trouble, illness or death. Access to the machine circle was also useful to the farmer who provided the service because it made the unused capacity more exploitable. TAKÁCS AND BARANYAI (2011), on the basis of their own research, believe that acceptance of cooperation among young farmers is greater since they are free from the burden of ingrained grievances of the regime change thus they may be more open to co-operation. In my work I aimed to find out if the farmers I interviewed are willing to implement cooperation, and, if so, with whom could they imagine such collaboration.
