MEASURES TO IMPROVE SWINE FATTENING MANAGEMENT

Abstract

To obtain good economic results during the entire fattening period of swine, measures are imposed in order to improve the management of fattening by optimizing the density of animals in stalls in correlation with the technological indicators expected to be achieved, the control of nutrition and microclimate factors. With the increase of the useful area on the fattening pig correlated with the technological indicators, from 0.70 square meters to 0.83 square meters and the decrease in the number of animals from 16 to 14 heads per pen, with the automatic control of microclimate factors, the performances of production are improving in terms of body mass gains, feed conversion indices and carcass and meat quality. The implementation of managerial measures to improve the microclimate in fattening swine shelters must take into account the control of the most important factors of the microclimate, especially the temperature, in order to obtain performances at the biological value of commercial hybrids under economic conditions.
