CONTEMPORARY ETHNOGRAPHIC REALITIES FROM THE VILLAGES OF CARAS-SEVERIN COUNTY
Abstract
Caras-Severin County is located in the southwestern part of Romania. Through its varied, particularly attractive relief, where numerous historical and archaeological monuments are integrated with the rich ethnographic, folkloric and cultural traditions, it offers great possibilities for tourism in the most diverse forms. Depending on the particularities of the landscape and the tourist objectives (natural and anthropogenic), several tourist areas can be defined within the county, which, in turn, are further subdivided into isolated objectives. Numerous elements of touristic value related to the natural setting and especially to the mountain area, to cultural-historical and art monuments, the richness of the ethno-folkloric fund, complemented by the position in the territory, the variety of traffic arteries constitute a tourist offer with a high potential, especially a rural one.
