TEACHING AIR POLLUTION TO STUDENTS AGED 6-14: A METHODOLOGICAL APPROACH

Abstract


Teaching about air pollution to students aged 6-14 is a difficult enterprise. The difficulty arises from two major facts: first, air pollution is a reality that nobody can deny and that requires educating the young generations; second, educating young generations nowadays is extremely challenging particularly of we take into account that we live in the era of information technologies. When considering the young generation living in rural areas, things get even more complicated. Raising environmental awareness among rural educators and students is possible if we develop new training methodologies, new training materials, and integrate new training materials in the new syllabus. This paper focuses on the methodological approach of such educational initiatives
