Abstract

The European Union is one of the most prosperous and competitive areas worldwide, both from the points of view of the level of economic development, and of the development potential. However, it is known that there are still major differences concerning prosperity and productivity of the member states or between their region. That is why, the policy of rural development of the European Union must be adapted to the specific needs of the regions and defined under common consent with the regional and local authorities. The first version of the national policy of rural development 2014-2020 was launched in July last year and transmitted to the European Commission for approval. The new program brings important changes as concerns the rural development measures.
