Abstract

Agriculture is seen as an important tool for poverty reduction, 4 times more effective than increasing the incomes of the poorest of the population. Eradicating poverty is one of the main objectives of the World Bank and through this perspective it’s involvement in agriculture becomes obvious. In this sense it collaborates with countries to improve the productivity of farms, livestock and fisheries, promotes innovation through research and education, and facilitates responsible agricultural investment. Bank collaboration with countries is required in order to support governments to take the best decisions in the process of allocation of resources for the agriculture field development.
